Stay Alien: Making Secondhand Feel Out of This World

A decade ago, the founder of Racks & Clothes bought their first thrifted item. Most people would have let it go by now. But this piece? Still here. Still serving.

"What if the joy this thrifted item brought to my life could be replicated and felt by others?"

And the brand's mascot? Aliens.

Why aliens? Because aliens are different, they said. Beautifully out of this world and unapologetically themselves.

"I have always been fascinated by and curious about aliens, which naturally became our brand image."

The heart of the shop is two words:

Stay Alien.

Their taglines say the rest: "Curated finds" and "Handpicked clothes, all in one place."

"Our goal is to empower people through fashion, encouraging them to be entirely unique and beautifully out of this world like an alien."

Secondhand clothes are often seen as outdated, unhygienic, or disorganized.

Racks & Clothes fights back by doing the work.

"It brings us immense joy when buyers tag us in posts wearing our pieces. To us, that is a victory. It proves that thrifted items can be incredibly stylish and fashionable, and that second hand items can still spark bright new joy in people's lives."
